Linda D Case – 64

Mt. Morris, Il. – Linda D Case, age 64, died April 1, 2010 at home. She was born December 27, 1945 the daughter of Sam & Margaret (Carlson) Madonna. She married Francis G. Case, August 12, 1995 in Byron, IL. Linda retired as a safety director for Quality Metal in 1997, after 23 years. She is a lifetime Byron Area resident. She is a member of Global Harvest Church. She was a member of the American Association of Safety Engineers, and she was a member of the TARP Disaster Team with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office.
Linda is survived by her husband, Francis Case, Byron, IL. Son: Joseph J. Ganus, Byron, IL. Daughter: Tracey (Alan) Conway, Rockford, IL. Step-Children: Hope Durnell; Faith (David) Wallace; Eric (Kathleen) Case; Luke (Kelly) Case. 16 Grandchildren: Joey Ganus; Alisha Tyler; Andy Conway; Ashly Bladen; Liana, Zack, Sarah Durnell; Shana Delancey; David, Dustin, Austin, Rebecca Wallace; Steven, Eric Jr., Lucus, Keeton Case. Aunt: Doris Carlson. 2 Brothers: Larry (Joy) Williams, Dan Williams. 2 Sisters: Sharon McDonald, Jan Williams.
She is preceded in death by her Parents.
Memorial Service will be April 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at her home with the Rev. Gary Cortese officiating. A fellowship following the service will be in her home till 4:00 P.M. Cremation Rites have been accorded through Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, Il.

Karl S. Cox – 72

Mount Morris, IL – Karl S. Cox, 72, of Mount Morris died March 15, 2010, in his home. Born Aug. 29, 1937, in Polo; the son of Henry and Opal Mae (Pearce) Cox. Married Sharon Wagaman on Feb. 21, 1958, in Oregon. Karl was a machinist, retiring in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army. Graduated from Polo High School, Class of 1955. Survived by wife, Sharon of Mount Morris; sons, Randy (Melinda) Cox, Jeff (Peg) Cox and Mike (Sheila) Cox, all of Mount Morris; daughter, Jolene (Lee) Turner of Waukesha, Wis.; grandchildren, Marc Cox of Sycamore, Allie, Maddie and Sam Turner of Waukesha, Wis., Miranda and Travis Cox of Forreston, Jacob Cox and Zac Cox of Mount Morris; and brother, the Rev. Monte (Carol) Cox of Polo. Predeceased by his parents, and grandson, Landon Turner. Service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 18, in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt St., Mount Morris, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time; the Rev. David Demmer will officiate. Todd Allen Moore – 72

Alberquerque, New Mexico – Todd Allen Moore, 72, died March 12, 2010 at Northwest Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Born on November 14, 1937 to John E. and Helen M. (Babcock) Moore. He married Barbara D. Mayfield on December 21, 1963 in Freeport, IL. He graduated from Freeport High School, received a bachelor degree in English and a masters degree in Library Science from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, IL. He worked as an English teacher at Belvidere High School, Belvidere, IL for 23 years; retiring in 1993. Todd has lived in Alberquerque, NM for the last 16 years.
He is a member of Illinois Education Association and Bowie Knife Association. Todd enjoyed writing poetry and collecting western memorabilia.
Survived by his wife Barbara; 2 sons: Theron (Jeanette) Moore, Alberquerque, NM; Jason (Tami) Moore, Alberquerque, NM. 5 Grandchildren all of Alberquerque, NM: Jonathan Carter, Danielle Carter, Mareya Gutierrez, Emma Moore, and Jacob Moore. 1 sister: Nancy (Wayne) Weier, Freeport, IL; 1 brother; Gary (Mary) Moore, Cherry Valley, IL.
Predeceased by his parents, and 1 brother; Neal Moore.
Services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Freeport Church of the Brethren, Freeport, IL at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Lisa Fike officiating. Burial at North Grove Christian Cemetery, Egan, IL. Walter Wessel Hachmeister – 85
11/24/1924 – 2/24/2010

Mt. Morris, IL – Walter Wessel Hachmeister, 85, passed away on February 24, 2010 at Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris, IL. Walter was born November 24, 1924, the fourth son of Henry C. and Malinda (Wessel) Hachmeister.

He attended Fairview school north of Mt. Morris and graduated from Leaf River High School in 1943. He served with the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. On August 18, 1956, he was married to Carol Rucker of Polo, IL in a double ceremony with Jim Melvin and Marilyn Bollman.

Walter was employed by Commonwealth Edison (Exelon) for 28 years, retiring in 1982. He was a long time member of Kishwaukee Presbyterian Church, serving as elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He also served on the Stillman Valley Library Board, Friends of the Library and the PTA.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Sandra (Tom) Glendenning, Stillman Valley; son Kevin (Kris), Custer, SD; grandchildren, Karl (Meghan) Glendenning, St. Louis, MO, Ryan (Alison) Glendenning, Naperville, Malinda (Adam) Hurt, Stillman Valley, Lewis Hachmeister, Minneapolis, MN; great grandchildren, James Walter and Whittaker Glendenning and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Malinda Hachmeister; brothers, Ernest, Floyd, Herbert and Henry; a brother and sister in infancy and nephews, Gaylord (Corky) Hachmeister and H. Scot Hachmeister.

Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Services are Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Kishwaukee Presbyterian Church, 8195 Kishwaukee Rd, Stillman Valley, IL. with the Rev. Donald Holmertz officiating. Burial following at Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. prior to service. Mt. Morris, IL – Betty J. Mumma, 77, died February 22, 2010 at Pinecrest Manor. She was born January 27, 1933 in Mt. Morris, the daughter of David and Ruth (Stover) Messer. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School, class of 1951. She married Kenneth E. Mumma on October 4, 1974 in Mt. Morris, IL. She retired from Watt Publishing where she had been employed as a clerk. She is a lifelong resident of the community.

She is survived by one Aunt: Rachel Duncan, Mt. Morris, IL; Special Friends: Carol Davis and Judy Nixon. Also, her cats: Jack & Buffy.
Predeceased by her parents, husband and special friend Lucille Holsinger.

Services will be Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Bruce McKanna officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, IL. Mary Jane Mueller – 80

Oregon, IL – Mary Jane Mueller, 80, died Feburary 19, 2010 in KSB Hospital, Dixon, IL. She was born April 9, 1929 in Dixon, the daughter of Lawrence and Adaline (Blackburn) Cramer. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1947. She married Harry Mueller in 1954, Oregon, IL. Mary and her husband were the Owners/Operators of Happy Harry’s Lounge, Oregon, IL. She retired in 1992.

She is survived by one daughter: Rita (Alan) Anderson, Salem, IL; one sister JoAnn Spratt, Oregon, IL; one brother Larry (Karen) Cramer; also many nieces. Predeceased by her parents.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, IL., on May 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oregon, IL. Arrangements by Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris, IL.

Kenneth M. Gearhart – 95

Oregon, IL – Kenneth M. Gearhart, 95, died February 18, 2010 in CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. Born September 2, 1914 in Grand Detour Twp., the son of John Rowland and Mabel Jane (Davis) Gearhart. He graduated from Oregon High School. He married Margaret Wilde on November 28, 1939 in Iowa. He owned and operated his own auto repair shop. Kenneth and his wife owned and trained harness horses. He retired in 1980. He is a lifetime Oregon/Mt. Morris resident. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He is a lifetime member of the VFW, Oregon, IL.

He is survived by his wife, a nephew; Ron Colson, Oregon, IL; special friend, Jerry Sepesy. Predeceased by his parents and a sister, Mary Colson.

Arrangements will be at a later date. Finch Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Harry M. Stahl – 76

Mt. Morris, IL – Harry M. Stahl, age 76, died February 5, 2010 at Swedish American Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones. Harry was born October 24, 1933 in Dixon, IL; the son of Michael & Amelia (Vollweiter) Stahl. Harry married Dorothy Kielsmeier on August 18, 1958 in Dixon, IL. He worked as a Forklift Automotive Small Engine Mechanic at Quebecor Printing, Mt. Morris, IL; retiring in 1995. He is a lifetime Mt. Morris area resident. He is a Veteran; served in the U.S. Army Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy; 2 sons: David Stahl, Florida; Dan (Cheryl) Stahl, Forreston, IL. 2 daughters: Ruth Cross, Florida; Rhonda Bachman, Janesville, WI. 4 grandchildren: Danielle Stahl, Warren Stahl, Leah Sabaduquia, and Shawna May Stahl. 1 great-grandchild; Reed Kemp. 2 sisters; Bertha Jacobs, Sterling, IL., Lucille Beard, Dixon, IL. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Rienhardt and Walter. 3 sisters: Elsie, Irene, and Harriet.

Mt. Morris, IL – Nellie Mae Karr, age 89, died February 4, 2010 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Nellie was born May 12, 1920 in Pine Creek Township, Ogle County, IL; the daughter of Sylvester M. and Vernie (Barnhart) Wakenight. Mrs. Karr married John M. Karr, September 4, 1948 in Pomeroy, Ohio. He preceded her in Death in 1990. She was a homemaker and she was a member of First Baptist Church, Oregon, IL. She was also a member of the Mt. Morris Women of the Moose.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Nancy (Michael) Plemmons, Lightsville, IL., and Evelyn & Vern Lovelett Plasters, Loves Park, IL. 3 Grandchildren: Debra (Roger) Pulver, Janesville, WI; Kandy (Doug) Jones, Loves Park, IL; and Terry Plemmons, Mt. Morris, IL. 8 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lloyd; sister June; 2 half-brothers Glen and Clarence; Grandson Tim and 1 infant Grandson Allen.
