LaRee Dianne Rasmussen, 62, of Chana went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 28, 1946, in Ortonville, Minn., daughter of Wallace Dale Burdick and LaJean Marie (Zahrbock) Burdick. Married Vernon L. Rasmussen on Sept. 28, 1963, in Polo. She was a homemaker. LaRee was a very talented lady who loved her hobbies of sewing, quilting, tatting, variety of crafting, dollhouse miniatures, gardening, angel collecting, bird watching and spending time with her family and friends. Member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paynes Point. Member of the church bell choir, quiet quilters, National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME) and Greater Rockford Area Miniature Society. Survived by husband, Vernon; daughters, LaCinda (Dave) Hansen of Steward and LaZette Rasmussen of Leaf River; grandchildren, LaCole and Trevor Coffey of Steward; sister, LaChele (Royce) Cunningham of Lee Center; brothers, Terry (Irene) Burdick of Rock Falls and Llyn Burdick of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and mother-in-law, Lavonne Rasmussen of Oregon. Predeceased by parents; brother, Neale Burdick; infant sister; father-in-law, Wesley Rasmussen; and son-in-law, Timothy Coffey. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Paynes Point, with visitation from 9 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Joanne D. Adrian will officiate. Cremation rites accorded. Burial at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, in Fairmount Cemetery, Polo. Memorials to be established. Arrangements by Finch Funeral Home, Mount Morris.
